CRITERIA FOR LISTING IN THE AMERICAN AIR MAIL CATALOG (AAMC)
DOMESTIC FLIGHTS – On the first date an airline flies pure jet service, directional dispatches are listed from all points. On the first date a city is served by jet aircraft, directional dispatches from that city are listed.
INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS – On the first date an airline flies pure jet service to the U.S., dispatches are listed to and from each U.S.,
1st Jet Airmail Servicepoint served. The first time a foreign point is served by a jet plane also serving any point in the U.S., dispatches between this point and the U.S. points are listed.
CACHETS AND DISPATCHING POINTS – Any flights not otherwise categorized above, including prop-jet services, are listed if recognized by official Post Office Department or USPS cachets. All flight with official cachets which occurred after November 30 1965 are recognized only if authorized by the Post Office Department, which usually authorized only dispatches sent on the first jet flight of the inaugural day.
