AAMS AWARDS & CRITERIA

The American Airmail Society offers the following show awards.

1.  National Level or World Series of Philately Shows

    One airmail exhibit may be selected by the jury as the best airmail exhibit in the show and be awarded the AAMS Gold Medal and Ribbon.  There must be at least three competitive multi-frame airmail exhibits entered in the show.  Astrophilatelic exhibits, display and illustrated division exhibits whose theme is primarily aerophilatelic, and thematic exhibits with an aerophilatelic theme are eligible.  The selected exhibit should receive a least a show vermeil or gold.  The owner of the exhibit need not be a member of the AAMS.

2.  Regional or Local Shows

    For shows that have at least three multi-frame airmail exhibits, the AAMS Medal and Ribbon may be awarded to the best airmail exhibit.

    For shows that have at least two multi-frame airmail exhibits, the AAMS Certificate may be awarded to the best airmail exhibit.

    Astrophilatelic exhibits, display and illustrated exhibits whose theme is primarily aerophilatelic, and thematic exhibits with an aerophilatelic theme are eligible.  The owner of the exhibit need not be a member of the AAMS.

3. AmeriStamp Expo

    The AAMS gold medal and ribbon may be awarded to the best aerophilatelic, astrophilatelic, or illustrated, display,or thematic exhibit with an aero or astro philatelic theme if three or more one frame exhibits are entered in the one frame 'open' competition.

    The AAMS gold medal and ribbon may be awarded to the best aerophilatelic, astrophilatelic, or illustrated, display, or thematic exhibit with an aero or astro philatelic theme if three or more multi-frame exhibits are entered in the 'open' competition.

    The AAMS medal and ribbon are awarded to the exhibit. The owner of the exhibit does not have to be amember of the AAMS.

4.  How to obtain the awards

    Shows should request the appropriate awards at least three weeks before the show date.  Send your request to:

    In your request, please include the following information:

         Name and address to whom the award should be sent
         The titles of the airmail exhibits

5.  After the Show

    Please send a show program and palmares to the above address so the award recipients may be recognized in The Airpost Journal.
